Students from Rajagiri Public School will donate 10,000 books to help restore the library of the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School at Velarmala, which was completely destroyed in the landslides in Wayanad.

A list of necessary books for the school was compiled, and a book exhibition featuring major publishers was held to gather the books.

According to Rev Fr Poulose Kidangen, CMI, director of Rajagiri Public School, the books will be given to the school once the library building is finished.

The school will also supply computers and software for the library. During a press conference held at the school, he mentioned that the establishment of the library facilities will cost a total of Rs 10 lakh as part of the school’s commitment to social responsibility.

iShare serves as the platform where every student at Rajagiri Public School participates in charitable work. Each student contributes one rupee daily to build a fund for student charitable activities.

The school intends to allocate Rs 1 lakh from the iShare funds for the restoration of the GVHS Library at Velarmala. Additionally, Rs 1 lakh was given to a baby named Adhrith Jithin for surgery to correct severe gastroesophageal reflux at Rajagiri Hospital.
